Ne verujem da postoji neko ko nije čuo za čuveni fiktivni HAL 9000 računar iz još poznatijeg ostvarenja Artura Klarka, i filmske Odiseje u svemiru. Zato je jako interesantan HAL 9000 projekat posvećen upravo ovom SF delu koji je nastao iz prostog animiranog wallpapera još 1999. godine.

Projekat je prevazišao desktop pozadinu, te je nakon početnog uspeha i velikog interesovanja osvežen pre 3 godine kada je i dobio svoj domen, a upotpunjen je similatorom HAL-ovog interfejsa, sjajnim linkovima i super screensaverom, Aktivnim desktopom i setom audio zapisa.

Za sve ljubitelje ovog SF “junaka” preporučujem ovaj screensaver (postoji i za Win i MAc platformu).

Film “Ataque de Pánico!” (Napad panike) traje samo četiri minuta i 48 sekundi i do sada je na YouTubeu pregledan nekoliko miliona puta na više lokacija. Ovaj kratki SF film je po mnogo čemu zanimljiv, snimio ga je i producirao urugvajski reditelj Fede Alvares još 2006. godine, ali ga je tek prošlog meseca postavio na YouTube.

Alvares koji se uglavnom bavi režiranjem reklama, radio je na njemu pune dve godine i za njegovu finalizaciju potrošio samo 300 dolara. Zašto “samo”? Zato što specijalni efekti izgledaju kao da je utrošeno par miliona dolara.

U.S.A vs U.S.S.R. moon race begins Americans were at 35,500 miles from the Moon, when Soviets had impacted on its surface 13 Sep 1959. 3 years after Soviets have brought images of far side of Moon, Americans still can't beat Earth gravity pull. Oct 18 1962: 5th US Lunar Impact attempt. Spacecraft malfunctioned in Earth orbit. Then in 1963 a setback year for Soviets. 1964 US Lunar impact but cameras failed ;) then a hit and another that transmitted first photographs from surface. 1965 USSR lost 5 of their Lunar soft landers. Another embarassment and disaster for Red team. But same year a USSR Probe photographed Moon during flyby on way to Mars... 1966 both US and USSR successfully landed their spacecrafts on Moon and put their Lunar orbiters! 1969 NASA mission Apollo 11... Americans have made it. They put a man on the Moon! American flag flaps in the wind... on Moon... but they didn't claim it, just to commemorate the journey of American astronauts. Hey wait. There is no wind on Moon, because there is no atmosphere ;) 1st question: what makes a flag flaps on Moon if there's no wind? This is just one of the myths of conspiracy theory that Americans in fact didn't land at all. Well I don't know, it's only that blueprints and telemetry data tapes from Apollo 11 are missing... and high quality moonwalk video is missing as well(the original before scan conversion). The Soviets were well ahead of U.S. regarding preparations They've already had a dog in space. Here's an interesting video. Nation that have won the space race would win the cold war. If you can't make it, fake it. With the technology of that time and moon budget, success is guaranteed. They (the astronauts) have taken off and spent 8 days in Earth's orbit. Earlier in studios in the desert, they've made a movie with happy ending. Russians took satellite pictures with moonlike features terain with craters inside Area 51. Why there's no blast crater beneath a Lunar lander? Why there are no stars? What about radiation belts and magnetic storms? Proofs of faked landing are in NASA's own photos and videos. Shadows intersect like there are multiple light sources not just from the Sun and objects in shadow are clearly visible. Question of lens crosshairs behind objects on those photos and many others, remain unanswered... America did land on the Moon, end of story! Or is it?The truth is out there. All that junk must still be there. We just have to go back to prove it. However, NASA says that landing (again) on the Moon is out of the question, that we would have to wait some 20 or more years and that there is no money for that kind of adventure in NASA's budget. To simply switch the entire World Wide Web off is virtually impossible — the bankers and the military would be the first losers. The end game is a system similar to China, whereby no websites even mildly critical of the government will be authorized. We will see the future where washing machines, TVs, security systems, cars, traffic lights and other electronically-controlled systems would all be networked, controlled and maintained by a virtual supervisor. In the future, everything of value will be on the network in one form of another. Researchers seeking smarter ways to tackle the most complicated computing tasks think they've found the answer in a cloud computing, which aims to deliver supercomputing power over the Internet. Data centers that house hundreds or thousands of computers to quickly serve sophisticated software to legions of users. The services will be accessible anywhere that has access to networking infrastructure. You wouldn't need hard drives any more, all your data is in the cloud. Cloud computing has been criticized for limiting the freedom of users and making them dependent on the cloud computing provider. It is indeed only possible to use applications or services that the provider is willing to offer. Cloud computing will restrict users' freedom and that it is simply a trap aimed at forcing more people to buy into locked, proprietary systems that would cost them more and more over time. The Cloud spans many borders and "may be the ultimate form of globalization". RFID chips have now been made as small as 0.3 millimeters (about the size of a pencil tip). Are you worried whether your child is in school or not ? Now, RFID technology will tell you the whereabouts of your child inside a school. UK has just undertaken a pilot project, in which school children are tagged with RFID chips. We are all familiar with biometric passports and ID chip cards. The next step would be implants under your skin. Data on radio chips can be cloned and modified without detection, according to a security researcher, raising question marks over the use of so-called e-passports that use RFID chips. All countries issuing e-passports are supposed to upload their digital certificate to the Public Key Directory (PKD). There has been an established link between the anti-RFID movement and fundamentalist Christians for quite a while now. This plan should raise a red flag for everyone familiar with the last book of the Bible... RFID has an important role in a ubiquitous spy network that is capable of serving powerful government officials, hostile regimes, criminals, pharmaceutical companies, insurance providers, and employers. The RFID industry is planning for humans to receive subdermal microchips, and for personally-identifiable chips to be embedded in everything we interact with. Potential for privacy loss is enormous, its implications are profound, and it will affect everyone. If this all sounds hyped and sensationalized, I recommend reading the patent applications for yourself, and statements from industry executives that celebrate future Draconian applications of RFID to provide authorities with methods to "abolish crime". With global financial meltdown unfolding, more and more people grow angry and hit the streets. There will be more riots and anti government protests than ever and new world order has the answer, so called crowd control systems or non-lethal weaponry. Well, somebody has to control the angry mob... How would they do it?Directed Acoustic Weapons“Sonic Cannon” capable of broadcasting earsplitting, “disorienting” sounds, (have been used to break up peaceful demonstrations in public spaces in Iraq and the country of Georgia). The device, called a “long-range acoustic device” (LRAD), is described by its manufacturer, the California-based American Technology Corporation, as having the ability to emit an “attention-getting and highly irritating tone for behavior modification.” (the device, which costs roughly $20,000, is two feet in diameter, and weighs 60 pounds, has been used “in combat since December 2003.”). LARD works like a highly directional, high power megaphone, able to blast sounds (such as crowd-dispersal instructions in Arabic) in a narrow beam and with great clarity at a deafening 150 decibels (50 times the human threshold of pain). LRAD can also create deafening noises which can incapacitate people within 300 meters by "firing" short bursts of intense acoustic energy.Directed Energy WeaponsAnti-personnel non lethal directed energy weapons include lasers, high power electro-magnetic pulse and directional acoustic weapons. One of the systems currently in use is the“SaberShot laser dazzler“ – this hand held or weapon mounted low-power device uses 250Mw of 532nm green-laser. When directed at the target, the laser's optics temporarily expand to generate a blinding light which penetrates smoke, fog at twice the range of white light. Modulation of such high intensity light cause disorientation, dazzle and blink reaction that reduces the target's activity. Directed microwave energy is also utilized for non lethal weapon system applications. Raytheon's “Active denial System“ (ADS) is a non lethal, counter-personnel directed energy non-lethal weapon which can be used to protect fixed positions or from mobile as well as airborne platforms, against human targets at distances beyond the effective range of small arms. The so-called active denial system (ADS) projects microwave-like radiation for distances of more than 500 meters, creating an excruciating, full-body burning sensation in anyone caught in its beam. The millimetre-wave rays penetrate skin to a depth of about 0.03cm in but cause no permanent damage, according to Raytheon, the system’s US-based maker. A similar system is currently at an initial development phase at applied physics lab of the the Israeli Technion. A different acoustic weapon is the vehicle mounted “Acoustic Blaster“, developed by PRIMEX Physics International. This weapon can be used for area denial, and against selected groups in crowds, mobs and rioters or in a hostile situation. The weapon can be operated by a single person. So far the system was developed as a prototype consisting of an array of four combustion detonation driven devices fired simultaneously or independently. The detonation creates an acoustic pressure of up to 165dB at a distance of 15 meters. The resulting acoustic pressure waveform can be optimized for acoustic-physiological coupling to targets for antipersonnel applications. The US Air Force Research Laboratory (ARL) is also working on a “Sequential Arc Discharge Acoustic Generator“ (SADAG) which produces high-intensity impulsive sound waves generated by electrical means. Among the programs currently under development at the USMC Non Lethal Weapons Program are multi-sensory devices aimed to disable individuals within structures, a taser to incapacitate a single individual and mobility denial system that deploys slippery foam to impede the movement of foot and vehicular traffic.They are ready... are you?Subscribe in a reader

The Solar Dish boils water, fries eggs in a skillet in ten minutes, and bakes cornbread in less than half an hour. The outdated, abandoned satellite dishes are a valuable resource. Everybody can easibly turn it into a Solar Cooker. All you need is Sun, satellite dish, roll of aluminum flashing from the local hardware store, some free time and good will... The dish is a prefabricated parabola, a shape that focuses visible and infrared light (or, originally, microwaves) to a single point in space called the focal point. The focal point is located above the center of the dish, where the struts hold the receiver in place. Remove the receiver since it is in the spot where you want to put the food. At the surface of the earth, about 1000 watts of energy fall on every square meter of ground when the sun is overhead. This value is called the solar constant. Multiplying 1000 watts/square meter by the dish area of 3.6 square meters, the dish should be able to collect and focus about 3600 watts of energy. This is a lot more than most cookers, and is about twice the power of a countertop hotplate or griller. The sun is always moving across the sky and the angle of the dish must also change for maximum results.WARNING: In the focal point it gets so hot that creates nasty burns and/or you could damage your eyes for good! Never place hand in beam and never experiment without protective gear.Ways to reduce the burn hazard: redesign the shape of the dish so that the focal point is low--well inside the bowl-shape of the dish where it is much less likely that someone will put their hand or face.Another method is to mount the cooking pot on a rotating arm--then the cook moves the arm to remove the pot from the focal point when the cook needs to open the pot. Leonardo da Vinci has built an automatic mechanical lion which was presented as a sign of homage to the new King Francis I of France in 1515. “He made a Lion, made with a marvellous mechanism, walk from its place in a room, and then it stopped and opened its chest, which was completely full of lilies and other flowers”. Fully automated wooden lion was performing different actions without electronics or wires. Recently it has been reconstructed from Leonardo's sketches and it worked! He also made a robot knight who could sit up, wave its arms, bend its legs, move its head, and open and close its jaw; a mechanical apparatus in the chest controlled arm movements, while an external crank moved the legs. An earlier drawing, from 1478, was thought for years to be the design for a spring-powered cart. The clockwork dolls are regarded as Japan's first robots. Japanese were always interested in mechanics and robotics. Ancients were not stupid, they used technology of their times (springs, ropes, water mechanics...) and they had genious ideas. The manuscript called Karakuri Zui (sometimes read as Kikou Zui) or "Illustrated Machinery" was written by Hanzo Hosokawa, a mechanical engineer, astronomer and inventor from the domain of Tosa on Shikoku Island. The three-volume treatise details how to make four kinds of wadokei clocks and nine types of karakuri dolls including the famous tea-serving doll. Known as Japan's oldest mechanical engineering manuscript, the book has meticulously written notes on how to dress the dolls in kimono. One thousand years ago, when Europe was still in the dark ages, China was at the forefront of technology. Whilst Europe's Renaissance is celebrated through the innovations of Leonardo da Vinci, Columbus and Renoir, few today realize that China experienced its own Renaissance fathered by the legendary Su Song five hundred years earlier. An ancient Chinese book called, Stories of Government and the People (or Chao Ye Qian Zai), contains many fascinating tales that occurred during and before the Tang Dynasty, among which are interesting historical records about the ancient mechanical engineering technology. King Lan Ling, who lived during the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577 A.D.), was ingenious in mechanical inventions. He once made a robot that could dance and that looked like a man of a non-Chinese ethnic group. When the King wanted to offer a drink to a man, the robot would turn to that man, and bow to the man with the drink in his hand. Nobody knows what secret mechanism was inside the robot. Yin Wenliang, a county magistrate from Luozhou was a very skillful mechanical engineer and liked drinking. He created a wooden man and dressed him with an outfit made of colourful silk. At every banquet, the small wooden man would propose a toast to each guest in order. Yin Wenliang also made a wooden woman. She could play the sheng (an ancient Chinese pipe with thirteen reeds) and sing, and she did them in perfect rhythm. If a guest did not finish the wine in his cup, the wooden man wouldn’t refill the cup. If a guest did not drink enough wine, the wooden singing girl would play the sheng and sing for him to urge him to drink more. Nobody could figure out the marvellous secret of these two wooden robots. The ancient world is littered with mythical references about automatic robotic machines. Stories such as the mythical golden robot built by Hephaistos, which would roam the island of Crete three times a day, protecting its wealth. Davne ‘91 godine pokrenuo sam Oreska BBS, koji je bio karakterističan po tome što je sadržavao veliku bibliotaku naučne fantastike, i to još uglavnom domaće. Mnogi su potrošili impulsa i impulsa na međugradskim vezama da bi sa Oreske preuzeli nešto za čitanje.

"We found what we're looking for" Scientists said today they have "found proof" of water ice on Mars away from the polar ice caps, a discovery made by NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander.The finding is a crucial first step toward learning whether the ground on Mars is hospitable, because all life as we know it requires water. Now scientists can get on with the business of studying the chemistry of Mars dirt in more detail.When the probe took photos of a ditch it had dug four days before, scientists noticed that about eight small crumbs of a bright material had disappeared. They concluded those crumbs had been water ice buried under a thin layer of dirt that vaporized when Phoenix exposed them to the air.Phoenix's robotic arm first revealed the crumbs about 5 cm deep in the trench called "Dodo-Goldilocks" on June 15. By June 19, they had vanished. If the crumbs had been salt, they wouldn't have disappeared, scientists said, and if the ice had been made of carbon dioxide, they wouldn't have vaporized."What this tells us is we found what we're looking for," said Mark Lemmon, a Phoenix co-investigator from Texas A&M University. "This tells us that we've got water ice within reach of the [robotic] arms, which means that we can continue the investigation."Finding ice on Mars isn't completely shocking, since observations from past satellites sent to orbit the planet, such as the 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft, have indicated that ice is likely to lie beneath the planet's surface. Still, if confirmed, this would be the first direct finding of that ice by a probe on the ground. The next questions to answer are what chemicals, minerals and organic compounds might be mixed in with the water. "The real excitement will come when they start to study the ice in detail and attempt to learn how it formed and how old it is." Jedinstvena formula koja objašnjava sve sile multiverzuma možda postoji. Einstein Albert nije prvi pokrenuo ovu ideju ali ne mogavši da prihvati neke principe kvantne mehanike, samo je još veću uneo zabunu. Teorijom struna(String Theory) i najposle M Teorijom, na pragu smo otkrića koje će nam, kako je Einstein voleo da kaže, omogućiti da Bogu čitamo misli. Einstein je naravno bio genije i pre svega naučnik, pred kraj života dobio je i titulu ludog naučnika, ali je verovao u Silu koja stoji iza svega i koja je SVE aka Bog. Nauka i Religija će se na kraju stopiti u jednu istinu o postojanju takve sile, naučnici će ispisati formulu koja objašnjava i dokazuje jednog Boga koji jeste multiverzum i u koga su ljudi verovali od samog početka. Možda će se tada roditi nova verzija obožavanja te sile, koja povezuje sve postojeće. Neverovanje u postojanje Sile bilo bi jednako neprihvatanju istine i neverovanju u svoje postojanje. To bi najzad moglo pomiriti sve ljude i vernike na Planeti. Rešili bi večnu zagonetku i mogli bismo da upravljamo mehanikom sile koja povezuje sve ostale, razumeli bi je... A da li bi nam Sila dozvolila da se igramo Boga? Mi to već činimo, uskoro ćemo upravljati svim životom na Zemlji. Možemo da menjamo, da unapredjujemo, da stvaramo potpuno nove oblike života. Mi smo gospodari ovog zrnca prašine u beskonačnosti. Možemo i sve da uništimo ako nam se prohte. Mi utičemo na poredak stvari u multiverzumu ma kako mali bio naš uticaj. NIŠ - Slavica Milojković iz niškog sela Međurovo tvrdi da je u svom kukuruzištu pre nedelju dana videla vanzemaljca! Ova stamena pedesetpetogodišnja seljanka kaže da u životu nije ugledala ništa slično, te da ne bi svojim očima verovala da neobično biće nije videlo još troje meštana Međurova.- Bilo je rano jutro, tek je prošlo šes' , kada sam se obrela u baštu da zalijem papriku. Prišla sam na njivi i videla nešto, ma bre ko čo'ek, koje je klečalo na kolena i klanjalo se na prema sunce. Ono što me je prepalo i uverilo da se nešto čudno dešava je to što kad se ono njihalo i kljanjalo, njihale se i stabljike od kukuruz okolo njega - kaže Milojkovićeva, priznajući da ni posle nedelju dana ne može da se oporavi od šoka izazvanog prisustvom nezvanog gosta u kukuruzištu.

Slavica kaže da je biće imalo sve karakteristike čoveka, osim što je blistalo neviđenim sjajem.- Bilo se obuklo u nešto što je kao artija za pakovanje pokloni, zlatnožutu boju je imalo. Polak' sam mu prišla i pitala ga šta radi tuna. Nije mi odgovorilo, nit se čuo neki drugi zvuk. Pitala sam ga da l' je gluv kada mi ne odgovara i dal' govori srpski. Kad sam s'vatila da tu ipak nisu čista posla, onako prestravljena, otrčala sam do jednog starca koji je okopavao papriku u obližnju njivu. Pozvala sam ga da pođe sa mene i otera džukelu, ali je on to odbio, reko mi da se u moju baštu izgleda nešto zapalilo jer se vidi neobična svetlos' - priča Milojkovićeva.

Uplašena žena pomoć je zatražila od komšija Tomislava Živkovića i njegove supruge Vukosave, koji su odlučili da odu na njivu i provere šta se tamo dešava.

- Tomislav je poneo vilu, a ja motiku, jer smo se plašili da će nas taj stvor napadne. Međutim, kad smo stigli na pola put, videli smo da se džukela smanjuje, dok nije postala na nečega što bih najbliže opisala kao pticu koja je svetlela s mnogo boje. "To" se onda vinulo na nebo, da bi se pred naše oči ponovo pretvorilo u čoveka koji je "jahao" nešto ko motor i nestao put nebo - priča Slavica Milojković.

Tomislav i Vukosava Živković tvrde da u svom veku nisu videli ništa kao ono što su zatekli u kukuruzištu i uglas govore: "Spomenulo se, ne povratilo se".- Slavica je bila mlogo uzbuđena i pozvala nas je da pođemo s' nju, jer je u njenu njivu videla nešto čudno. Ž'na i js smo krenuli s nju i kad smo došli do njivu dobro smo videli nešto što ni danas ne znamo šta je. Odozgor je bilo zlatnožute boje, dok je preko pojas imalo nešto crno, što je ličilo na kecelju. Ono je klečalo, pa se uspravljalo, i kad je to uradilo treći put, odletelo je na nebo - kaže Tomislav Živković.

Njegova supruga Vukosava priznaje da ju je tuđinac "isterao iz pamet" i da još ne može da se pribere od ovog neobičnog doživljaja.Meštani Međurova različito reaguju na doživljaj svojih komšija, ali se slažu u oceni da je reč o ozbiljnim ljudima koji tako nešto ne bi izmislili. Ipak, niko od njih nema objašnjenje zašto su vanzemaljci odlučili da se Srbima ukažu baš u Međurovu, s obzirom na to da je ovo moravsko selo poznato jedino po proizvodnji paprike, a ne veruju da bi vanzemaljci iz tog razloga pokazali interesovanje za njih.

It was early morning, just after six and I was going to water my paprikas. I came near and then I saw something kneeling on its knees worshiping the Sun. I knew something's weird when I saw corn stalks bow with him. It looked almost manlike except that it was glowing. Its clothes were like tin golden foil. I came very near and whispered what he was doing there. it didn't answer. I asked him again was he deaf or didn't understand serbian. It remained silent...then i ran to my neighbour, an old man working in his garden and asked him to help me chase off that thing but he wouldn't come. He said that my cornfield was on fire and that he saw some bright lights there.Then, the old woman ran to her next neighbour Tomislav Zivkovic and his wife Vukosava. They agreed to help.Tomislav and I rushed to the spot carying cold weapons. We wanted to kill the bastard. When it saw us armed to the teeth, it started to shrink. It became like a bird and flew to heavens... than it transformed into man again, sat on his "bike" and dissapeard...

It was kinda yellow and it had something black around its weist. it kept kneeling and standing up and when it did it for the third time... it flew away.

Vukosava is still in shock from the incident that took place a week ago. The others from village say that they don't think their neighbours would imagine such a thing. They don't know why the aliens came to their village of Medjurovo although they make very fine paprika. The best...

B92-Izgleda da kriptonit više nije samo deo naučne fantastike i mineral koji je u stanju da oduzme snagu Supermenu.Novi mineral sa identičnom hemijskom strukturom kakvu ima kriptonit u filmu „Povratak Supermena“, pronađen je u rudniku u Srbiji. Iako u filmu kriptonit ima fluorescentnu zelenu boju i oduzima supermoći, pravi kristal je prilično običan, izjavio je doktor Kris Stenli iz Prirodnjačkog muzeja u Londonu. „Plašim se da novootkriveni mineral nije zelene boje i ne svetli, ali primetlili smo da pored ultraljubičastog svetla odaje narandžast odsjaj“, izjavio je Stenli za BBC. Istraživači rudarske kompanije Rio Tinto otkrili su neobičan mineral i, nakon neuspele identifikacije, pozvali su doktora Stenlija kako bi im pomogao da odrede poreklo i sastav nauci potpuno nepoznatog minerala. Francuska Nacionalna svemirska agencija učinila je dostupnim javnosti svoje dokumente vezane za svaki slučaj prijavljenog kontakta sa neidentifikovanim letećim objektima u proteklih pedeset godina.Francuska je prva zemlja koja je omogućila svojim građanima da pogledaju svu dokumentaciju vezanu za navodna viđenja vanzemaljaca. Baza podataka će redovno biti ažurirana novim slučajevima kako se oni budu pojavljivali.
